April 2, 2008. Important Announcement.  Harris Sutton Chevrolet has advised us that they can no longer be our saddle sponsor.  This is due to hard economic times. Mr. Harris regrets this decision and wishes to express his gratitude to all the team penners for their business.  He hopes to get back on board for 2009.

In the meantime, if any of you know of someone who would like to pick up this sponsorship, please let them know this information: We use the sponsorship to buy 3 saddles, the saddles can be tooled with their business name, banners can be hung in the arena at all times and their business name will be on our flyers.  The cost is $3,000.

So for 2008, we will go ahead with our plans for the finals with just added money, no saddles.  Please help us spread the word.

--Yearly membership shall be $40 for an individual and $10 for each additional family member (includes husband, wife & children under age 18 and still living at home).
--Persons not wishing to join may purchase an event permit for a fee of $10 per day to participate. No permits at the finals.
--All contestants must hold a membership to be eligible for year end awards.
--There will be a dress code for the finals, long sleeve shirt and cowboy hat. Not necessary for competition but need for photos for sponsors.
--Members must attend 4 out of 8 of the show dates posted to be eligible for the year end awards. This means 4 times in the #5 to be eligible for the #5 finals, 4 times in the Open to be eligible for the Open finals, etc.
--Tiebreakers: 1. Attendance, 2. High money and 3.Coin toss.
--All entry fees will be paid in cash. All payback will be paid in cash.  No tabs will be set up.
--Two dollars per entry fee will be held out for year end awards.
--Payoff will be one place for every seven entries in the #5. One place for every ten in the Open and Sorting.
--Five ride limit. Only highest placing will count towards points.
--The pennings will be no trash. Any cow not in the pen will be considered a trash cow.
--The #5 & Open will be 3 round elimination; 60/75/90 seconds. The Sorting will be 3 rounds all at 90 seconds.

--Standings for all classes will be kept on money won and posted to www.lightningp.com.  

--The order of events will be changed every year for fairness to all classes. The class that runs at the bottom in 2008 will move up to first in order for 2009.

--Harris Sutton Chevrolet of Chatsworth has once again agreed to sponsor LPTPA in 2008.

--Saddles will be given to the high point of each class at year end.

--LPTPA will use a point system for 2008 to determine the year end winner.  Points will be given through 3 places past money paid. Example:  If two monies are paid, points will be given through 5th(5,4,3,2,1).
